Thesis Project: Emergency Relief Shelter

This is a video of my current thesis project. Compared to current 34' FEMA trailers with 311 sq.ft. of floor area, this 24' trailer offers 360 sq.ft. when fully set. 24' "pods" allow for the transportation of 2 at once on a lowboy semi truck. This unit has also been specially designed for the Northern Plains climate to better respond to the harsh winters and humid summers. Renders of 3 additional units designed for Southwest, Southeast, and West coast climates will be posted shortly. Below are the plans for the Northern Plains unit. The left plan shows the unit fully expanded, the right shows the unit in transport mode.
